For the Garage Sales Addicts

"Chineur" can be roughly translated into "someone who goes to garage sales". Chineur is a magazine I like because it covers all kind of collectibles and antique, and in every single issue there is at least one or two article I'll find interesting.

I picked this month issue for the antique glass pages. But I wanted to show you this issue because I know there is a lot of vintage train collectors out there, and chineur has a nice 12 pages article on Jouef electric toy trains. Jouef is a french firm founded in 1944. If you want to know more about Jouef try Jouef website.

Also in this issue some antique and rare inkwells, collecting antique drinking glasses (beautiful objects, many interesting pictures)and the usual calendar of garage sales and antique dealer shows.

More Twilight Goodies

Twilight is currently the number one cash cow of the French teen magazines. Some are great, some are not worth your pocket change and some just take fans for dumbass (Series City among other. It's probably the most beautiful magazine around, with great layout, pics and posters. But when you start publishing re-issues and alternate covers and special editions and all that over a 2 week period, it's just not right).

I start with one of my favorite Twilight cover ever. It's on "ONE" issue #61. I love the wintertime colors, and Robert Pattinson just looks gorgeous. So this cover is a must in your collection!

The 3rd issue of Dark Mag is out. It's a good mag, but if you buy magazines only for Twilight pics and posters, you might be disappointed. There is a lot of discussions about anything related to vampires, Gothic universe and such. It's not mainly on Twilight. This month issue has an interview with Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood.

Robert Pattinson: more magazines!

Wow 2 more French magazines this morning featuring Twilight and Robert Pattinson.

The magazine "Number One" issue #40 is some kind of a scam. Presented in a plastic bag, the cover makes you believe you will get 100 pages on Twilight. False. You get a mini mag of 15 pages plus 2 unrelated back issue magazines! Very deceptive practice. Shame on this magazine. So you pay for a small magazine, not for 100 pages of Twilight goodies! Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and kristen Stewart on the cover. Articles includes "Taylor Lautner, the new Mr. Muscles", "Will Robert Pattinson manage to deal with all the pressure" and more.

And another "Series Mania". I love this magazines, but I think they are over doing it with all those "special edition" on Twilight. Anyway this issue (#10H) has a Robert Pattinson cover. Also a coverage on Vampire Diaries, a promising new TV show.

Hannah Montana-Miley Cyrus Cute French Magazine Covers

She is hot right now, lots of French magazines are having her on their covers because she does sell well. I am talking of course about Miley Cyrus the star of Hannah Montana. Why so many Hannah Montana French magazine this month? Because the movie will be release in France on june 17th.
Fan2 has her on cover in issue #82: she is on 2 posters as well and the magazine is offering you a free copy of "Hannah Montana the movie" Panini sticker album (includes 6 stickers).

If you love Kristen Stewart you will be happy to know she is on cover on the latest Stars Live (issue #71). Includes a 2 pages interview and 2 posters (for once, both posters are showing her alone, not with Robert!). Also in this issue Hannah Montana and Ashley Tisdale.

Another new magazine featuring Twilight is "One" regular issue #58. Includes a cover, news on New moon, and 2 posters (Robert Pattinson and New Moon). Good buy, cool cover! Also news on the Latest Harry Potter film, Zac Efron, James Laffery.

If you are a collector of enamel coffee pots, the magazine "Collectionneur et Chineur" #58 have a nice 7 pages coverage on the history, brands and price list of enamel coffee pots. Many color pictures, very nice! Lots and lots of pictures. It sure makes you wanted to start collecting!

If you are a fan of Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) don't miss the special issue of Serie Culte (Issue 60).

Muze is featuring a cover and interview with the beautiful Audrey Tautou who plays Chanel in a new movie (Coco before Chanel) about the famous french fashion designer.

Stars book and Another Series Mania on Twilight

2 new french magazines on Twilight are out today. "Stars Book" with news on the sequel. Some special effects are explained, there is an interview with Robert Pattinson and how he tries to deal with the his sudden stardom.

Series Mania (special edition #9) is also devoted to Twilight. I manage to get 1 copy (happy me) which is a miracle because it is hard to find. The last issue of Mania (the one talk about last week) sold out in a matter of hours. I tried 8 stores and all were out! Most of the stores receive only a copy or 2, not enough to cover the demand. Same with today's issue, the first store I visited was sold out, the second only had 1 copy. The issue has 2 cool Kristen posters (plus 6 others)

French magazine Photo (issue #458) is out with the latest sexy and glamorous pictures of Natalia Vodianova. Also a 14 pages coverage on Andy Warhol and the WORLD PRESS PHOTO 2009. As usual, Photo is a must buy. So many great pics.

Trinity Stars magazine

Trinity stars #2 is now in store. For Arthelius fans you should know that the same team
who made the amazing Arthelius magazine is working on Trinity stars. I cannot say it is as good as Arthelius yet, but it is well worth the money. You have 6 posters in it and 8 postcards, many full page pictures and a nice sleek look.

This month issue has a (guess what?) Twilight cover, as well as news and pics from Hannah Montana, Tokio Hotel, High school musical, Harry Potter, Jonas brothers.

In case you missed the news, Arthelius has been discontinued and will be replaced by "Séries City". The last Arthelius issue was #23 (november 2008). The first issue of "Séries City" was supposed to come out in January but has been postponed to an undetermined date.

George Clooney is making front page of the first issue of this new movie related magazine called "Cine mag" (how original...). Ok, I am going to say it...my gosh he looks old. I guess I should stop watching ER reruns. He looks so tired, maybe he is sick or something (I sometimes live under a rock, so I may have miss a big news like that). Anyway, besides Clooney and Will Smith, the issue focus mostly on France artists: Luc Besson, Yolande Moreau, Clovis Cornillac, Annie Girardot, Jean-Luc Goddard.

Julia Roberts. We haven't seen much of her lately, but now with her visit to Paris on march 12th we are sure going to see her on variety and celebs magazines all over.

It has already started with Gala featuring her on the march 16th issue. A nice cover pic with a quote "At 40, I am doing what I like".
